"Mmm... I prefer 'several thousand years young', thank you." It's a haughty tone, but it's also too preposterous not to be a joke.

"I see. He did tell me he'd been talked into it. The dog has been good for him..." He continues, reaching down to ruffle Saint's ears as he peers at a stack of books left out from research, or just very advanced recreational reading. It doesn't help this search for clues any that Balthazar is disorganized. The place is cluttered, which normally gives it a homey feel, but now books left out haphazardly that provide research on defeating dark magic could be vital clues, or just something he was perusing in his spare time. It's impossible to tell.
