They're at a stand-still, with neither of them willing to volunteer information. But by now it's more wounded pride than anything else that makes her want to put a bullet in him, and she realizes that. She'll remain suspicious, but she does lower the gun. She doesn't holster it, but she keeps it in an easy grip in one hand, barrel down towards the floor.
"Unlike him ta leave his dog like this, too," she added. "Poor mutt was almost outa food an' water."
